This is another milestone in the mobile phone industry, the biggest name in mobile phone industry namely Apple, Nokia, Motorola, Samsung & RIM has come to plan to make a universal charger for thier mobile phone base on the micro-USB connector. This is one of the best news so far in the mobile phone industry and we the end user will get the full benefit of this project. The goal here is to get rid of those useless chargers we seem to use everyday with our different gadgets, by this time when this project realized, we will be using only on charger for Apple, Nokia, Motorola, Samsung and RIM mobile phone, isn't it great?

If this mobile phone companies arrive with this great ideas, how about with other useful gadgets? like laptops? we will see in the future if this other companies can come up with a great solution like what the mobile phone companies are doing.

Microsoft's Windows OS will be on a majority of the laptops that is why Acer is changing the trends on the netbook categories by applying the Google Android into their netbook laptops.The benefits of having android as an OS is that it offers outstanding wireless on the go. Users will do most of their tasks, such as word processing, using online applications such as Google Docs. Acer showed its first Aspire One netbook with the Android operating system at the Computex show in Taiwan this week.

Acer plans to launch its first Aspire One netbooks with Android in the third quarter. So it may well evolve into a OS that competes with Windows, other top company's like Hewlett-Packard and Dell is also eyeing on the possibilities as well to install Google Android to their netbooks.

The First Mac Computer

The first Mac Computer which is called Apple 1 was invented, designed and developed by Steve Wozniak, an engineer at Hewlett-Packard. This computer was introduced on April 1, 1976 (April Fool's Day) and the first of its kind was used by Junior High Math class in Windsor CA. which gave Apple a competitive edge in the Educational Realm , and then it was donated to LO*OP Center, a nonprofit educational organization run by Liza Loop. Loop, who is also the director of the History of Computing in Learning and Education Project, agrees: "Woz wanted this simple, low-cost design so that the Apple would be affordable for students and teachers." The Apple 1 had a total sale of 200 units sold at $666.66 at that time, a merely $2,400 equivalent value today.

Good news to all iPhone / iTouch users, another information leaks about the latest software upgrades of the Apple's 3.0 software which is set to go public next month, one of the new upgrades is that iPhone and iPod Touch users can directly download movies and TV program, which means that you don't have to connect those iPhone cables to your PC or laptop, launching iTunes and synchronizing your iPhone or iPod Touch to download movies and TV programs. The convenience of directly downloading videos onto an iPhone or iPod Touch over would be a welcomed addition. Currently video downloads on the device are limited to audio and video podcasts.

Adding video and TV program downloads seems like a welcome addition to future Apple software updates, especially if it is limited to WiFi connections. Apple then did not confirm the reports yet.

The biggest success for Apple in the touchscreen product are the iPhone and the iPod Touch and maybe this time the company will take a leap and join the PC industry and create some fancy tablet PC, some speculations were already brought to the open, others already has a name for it, "The MacPad". it is the expanded iPod touch with a specs like the Macbook Pro, with its handwritting recognation, the all new MacPad will seem be refered to a single device, with a touchscreen, and perhaps running iPhone 3.0 software.

The MacPad will be intended primarily for entertainment, to be sure, but will also likely sport its share of business apps, just as the iPhone now does. This dual mode touchscreen could very well be interesting, allowing handwriting recognition that could potentially drive Mac sales and improve applications. Artists and photographers and also the younger generation, many of whom already use third-party graphics tablets, would presumably flock to the new tablet MacBooks.

Compaq & HP Recalls 70,000 laptop batteries

Over 70,000 Lithium-Ion HP & Compaq laptop batteries were recalled thursday by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for they pose some fire hazard, the battery used by HP laptop were manufactured in China. The recall was initiated after two reported incidents of laptop battery overheated and ruptured which resulted to fire and minor property damage, CPSC said. The laptop batteries where manufactured and released between August 2007 to March 2008 and the laptops were sold to U.S. electronics and computer stores and HP online store, also the laptop battery sold separately. Owners of laptops were instructed by CPSC immidiately call HP to determine if there laptop batteries were included in the recall and to request for a free laptop battery replacement. After removing the recalled laptop battery from their laptop, consumers may use the AC adapter to power their laptop until a replacement laptop battery arrives, CPSC said. HP was not immediately available for comment. The CPSC provided the list of model of HP and Compaq laptop that covers under the recall on its website. List can be downloaded here.

Intel fined $1.4 billion by European Commission

Europe is somewhat known to be more strick with multi-national companies when it comes to ruling, so this is why Intel fined $1.4 billion for its unethical business practice filed by it's rival AMD to the European Commission. The commission finds Intel "unfair game to its competitor" which is AMD, in a statement which quotes:

" The EC ruled that Intel paid rebates to OEMs and to Europe's largest IT retailer, Media Markt, in a way that shut out Intel's closest rival, Advanced Micro Devices Inc., which brought the complaint to the European Union."

However, despite the rulings, Intel has no plan on cutting down its plans on European Market, Intel employed 6,000 workers mostly in Ireland where ist largest chip factory is situated.

As I've heard from some fellow bloggers, here is again some rumors that mobile giant Nokia will be releasing the successor of their Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone, I have some few insights on the upgrades features of the rumored Nokia 5900 XpressMusic phone:
